The Deuce Weekly, 9/11 - 9/17/01

This was orginally sent out the morning of 9/10/01, with no clue that 24 hours later, the entire world would change.

Vol III, Iss II
9/11-9/17

*Thursday, Sept 13th and 20th... TNBS
Thursday night Bible Study happening at Common Ground, starting at 7pm. Great music, great fellowship and some great Coffee served up by our own Michael Booker.

*Sunday, Sept 16th... Drama at Common Ground
We had several people come to our little drama group yesterday, and we invite you in if you are interested in the drama ministry! No tryouts, no auditions, just a willingness to look foolish! Starts around 6:30, ends around 7:30 or so.

*Saturday, Sept 22nd... Coffeehouse with Al Denson
Common Ground holds its third annual Fall Coffeehouse, and again, Al Denson is returning to our
little stage! Derrick Harris (we'll make him do Smooth Criminal, it should be in his contract) is opening up, and we'll have an obligitory open mic time, with snacks, coffee and the works! Make sure you tell people about it, bring your friends, bring people who are looking for somewhere to go! It starts at 7pm, it ends whenever!

*Sunday, Sept 23rd... Luncheon with Al
You don't have to get up for 9:40 Life Connection! Worship together at 11 at Valleydale, then head over to "the Jungle" (the first modular behind the church, the one with the awning) immediately after service for lunch and a mini-concert by Al himself!

*Tuesday, Sept 25th... Caedmon's Call and Steven CC's new albums
"In the Company of Angels" and "Declaration", respectively, are released today.

*Saturday, Sept 30th... Grabbajava
What does it mean? We really dont know... but its a coffeehouse version of the traditional Tuesday Perk. Starts at 6:30 at Common Ground, and we'll have some music, some caffeine, some fellowship and who knows. Maybe Jason Quinn will dance for us or something.

*Friday, October 12th-14th... Fall Retreat/Conference
This fall's retreat we are heading to Dalton, GA (where?) for a conference starring Mercy Me and speaker Voddie Boachum. He was at Passion One Day, and he was the guy warning all of us against false worship. Good stuff. The trip is around $45, keeping watching for details.

*Friday, October 19th... The Phantom Menace at The Deuce
At the Deuce Family Theater in Digital Surround Sound, join us at 7pm for a special screening for Star Wars: The Phantom Menace.

*Saturday, October 20th... DeuceNight, the SemiFormal

http://www.rathergood.com/vid/
Its a cute little odd video about a frightened boy, an army of crabs and Britney Spears. Its clean, though, so dont worry about what you might see.
